Frist Art Gala

These Frist Art Gala project was inspired by a museum exhibition featuring the work of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. The goal was to create a cohesive visual identity that honored the emotional intensity, cultural symbolism, and bold artistic presence of both artists while elevating the gala as a refined, celebratory event.

Color played a central role in the design process. Drawing from the rich, saturated palettes often seen in Frida Kahlo’s self-portraits and Diego Rivera’s murals, as well as other cultural influences, I incorporated vibrant pinks, blues, yellows, oranges, and greens to reflect the bright and warm vitality of Mexican art and culture. Paper choice was also very intentional, using sturdy paper that would be suitable for mailing, while also considering paper color and textures.

Typography and layout were carefully considered to balance elegance with expression. The final designs aimed to feel immersive and energetic while maintaining a polished, upscale tone appropriate for a formal museum gala.
